Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate backend services, APIs, and automation for BI platforms across DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt.
- Automate platform lifecycle processes including provisioning, metadata, permissions, migrations, archival, and validation.
- Build integrations with data warehouses, identity providers, orchestration systems, CI/CD, and internal developer tooling.
- Improve availability, observability, performance, scalability, security, reliability, and developer experience for owned systems.
- Use AI tooling and, where appropriate, build reliable and governed LLM-backed capabilities.
- Own ambiguous technical problems end to end and collaborate with engineering, data, product, and business teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend, platform, or infrastructure systems.
- Proficiency writing readable, maintainable, well-tested Python code, with comfort using SQL and understanding data modeling and warehousing concepts.
- Experience building and owning production APIs, integrations, or automation, including service boundaries, authentication, data contracts, and failure modes.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, observability, debugging, incident response, and operating production systems.
- Hands-on experience using LLMs, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted development, with judgment about their appropriate use.
- Experience owning ambiguous problems, communicating with technical and non-technical teams, and self-organizing in a distributed environment.
- Preferred experience with Looker, Sigma, LookML, dbt, Okta, SCIM, role-based access controls, multi-tenant platforms, retrieval, grounding, evaluation, MCP, agent frameworks, or tool-calling in production.
