Responsibilities
- Learn the functional and technical context of the existing code base and deliver enhancements on the existing platform.
- Develop SAS solutions for regulatory reporting, stress testing, and Board reporting according to coding standards and deadlines.
- Refine functional requirements with the Algorithmic Solutions team and translate technical specifications into implementation packages for junior developers.
- Design the target architecture, create technical specifications, and collaborate with the domain architecture team on replacing SAS with a strategic solution.
- Document and continuously test new development, including developing test cases and supporting testing environments.
- Serve as a point of contact for audit requests and collaborate with Finance, Risk, Operations, Production Support, and other IT teams.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, refinement, code cleanup, impediment resolution, stakeholder management, and squad or chapter activities.
- Support service-based architecture and framework design.
Requirements
- At least 9–12 years of experience in SAS programming using Base and Macro SAS V9.
- Experience developing solutions for complex topics and working with SAS/Connect to Oracle.
- Advanced experience processing mass data in very large databases and tables, including performance issues on large-scale platforms.
- Experience with testing environments and development of test cases, plus working knowledge of SQL.
- Good working knowledge of the Agile SDLC model and experience with agile ceremonies, impediment resolution, stakeholder management, and managing a squad or team.
- Experience with service-based architecture and technical architecture, especially framework design.
- Fluent written and spoken English with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to share information and transfer knowledge.
- Desirable knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, Unix scripting, Python, AI code-assist tools, financial business processes, counterparty credit risk, SAS Grid Manager, Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, generative programming, and DevOps.
