Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-performing software solutions.
- Deliver production-grade applications and services using Java, Spring Boot, Python, SQL, and relational database technologies.
- Define software requirements and solution strategies in collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers.
- Apply system design principles across APIs, microservices, distributed systems, scalability, resilience, caching, messaging, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Lead technical delivery for complex platforms, systems, and cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues across application, database, infrastructure, integration, and production environments.
- Guide technical direction, lead collaborative multi-year assignments, and coach less experienced specialists.
- Advise stakeholders and senior management while managing risks, controls, governance, and alignment with business objectives.
- Promote code quality, secure coding, unit testing, knowledge sharing, and continuous technical improvement.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java, including core Java, object-oriented programming, collections, generics, exception handling, concurrency, JVM concepts, and performance optimization.
- Strong professional experience developing production-grade applications and services with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem.
- Advanced SQL capability and strong knowledge of relational database schema design, indexing, query optimization, transaction isolation, locking, and data integrity.
- Demonstrable experience with Python 3 for software development, scripting, automation, data processing, tooling, or platform engineering.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including programming principles, data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, and structured problem solving.
- Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts, ACID transactions, consistency models, concurrency control, and database-backed application architecture.
- Strong understanding of system design and engineering concepts, including distributed systems, scalability, resilience, caching, messaging, event-driven architecture, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with source control, automated testing, build tooling, release practices, and engineering governance.
- Significant professional software engineering experience with a proven record of delivering enterprise-scale applications.
- Experience leading technical delivery for complex platforms, systems, or cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Investment banking, capital markets, trading, risk, or financial services technology experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, DevOps tooling, messaging technologies, or high-performance computing is advantageous.
