Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot software components and services that address business and user requirements.
  • Implement well-scoped features and enhancements using established coding standards, architectural patterns, and development practices.
  • Write maintainable code and contribute to application reliability, scalability, performance, and quality through peer reviews and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to execute planned initiatives and deliver solutions on schedule.
  • Debug software defects and production issues and apply root-cause analysis within the assigned area.
  • Participate in requirements refinement, design, development, testing, deployment, support, documentation, and the broader software development lifecycle.
  • Apply secure coding practices, testing strategies, and team documentation standards.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to less experienced teammates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and three to seven years of experience, or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience.
  • In-depth information systems knowledge and the ability to apply IT best practices, plan and manage projects, and solve complex problems.
  • Experience with AWS, Python, and SQL databases.
  • Preferred: degree in computer science, mathematics, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Preferred: banking or financial services experience; strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design, analytical debugging, and enterprise application development.
  • Preferred: experience building and scaling high-quality applications or services, using open-source tools and frameworks, and working with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Preferred: knowledge of SOA or Open API service architectures, relational database design, SQL, stored procedures, data modeling, MQ, JMS, Git, Maven, Jenkins, and comprehensive unit and integration testing.
