Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of feature and infrastructure delivery from requirements gathering through design, implementation, and production support.
- Design, develop, and architect reliable APIs and distributed services for scalable, multi-tenant cloud applications.
- Lead code optimization, refactoring, performance tuning, and scaling initiatives for backend systems.
- Establish monitoring, telemetry, rate limiting, resilience, and multi-region deployment configurations.
- Mentor 2–4 systems engineers, conduct code reviews, and lead technical discussions across engineering teams.
- Drive adoption of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers, Product Managers, and technical leads on platform-wide capabilities.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of experience building high-performance backend systems and infrastructure.
- Experience building complex software systems from scratch and guiding them through multiple scale iterations.
- Expert knowledge of data structures and algorithms and strong understanding of time and space complexity.
- Ability to design scalable, fault-tolerant systems, database schemas, and data models.
- Experience with relational databases, NoSQL systems, caching, queuing systems, distributed queues, and microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling, CI/CD automation, and cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience conducting code reviews, directing technical scope, and mentoring junior systems engineers.
- Strong logical reasoning, problem-solving, technical communication, and ability to work in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
