Responsibilities

  • Architect large-scale applications and produce high- and low-level technical designs.
  • Develop distributed, highly available, reliable web applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and microservices.
  • Modernize legacy application components with current frameworks, architectures, and design patterns.
  • Manage source code and CI/CD pipelines while maintaining software quality, coding standards, and development practices.
  • Implement application security, shift-left practices, vulnerability remediation, and risk-reduction measures.
  • Resolve complex application and infrastructure problems, including off-shift and weekend support issues.
  • Drive application development focused on valuable business features and improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
  • Collaborate with end users, internal customers, and technical teams on requirements, debugging, testing, integration, and acceptance.
  • Guide architects and team members and identify opportunities for technical and process improvement.

Requirements

  • More than 14 years of application development experience with Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate/Spring Data JPA, Spring WebFlux, Spring Modulith, OpenAPI, and Liquibase or Flyway.
  • Experience providing technical solutions and application architecture, including business requirements analysis and high- and low-level design.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React or Angular for web-based applications.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka, SQS, and Pub/Sub models.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and applying AI/GenAI for automation.
  • Experience with containerized microservices architectures using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Git-based source-code management and repositories such as GitLab, GitHub, or Azure Repos.
  • Experience with unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, and Bruno.
  • Experience deploying and securing applications on AWS using CloudFormation, ECS Fargate, RDS, ALB, Lambda, S3, ElastiCache, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, and API Gateway.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, GitHub, and JFrog Artifactory, plus vulnerability remediation and automated security measures.
  • Understanding of web application security threats, security best practices, REST, GraphQL, gRPC, networking concepts, and Java/J2EE hosting.
  • Familiarity with at least two databases, including DB2 and PostgreSQL.
  • Preferred experience with Apigee, Azure or AWS cloud computing, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, CodeQL, Rapid7, Artifactory/Xray, Fortify, corporate security compliance, and cloud security policies.
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework is preferred.

  • Preferred work locations are Caterpillar PSN in Bangalore or WTC in Chennai.
  • Requires working five days per week.
  • Shift timing is 1:00–10:00 PM IST.
