Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable web applications using React and Python.
- Build and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and data-driven applications.
- Develop responsive user interfaces, dashboards, and visibility tools for lab equipment utilization.
- Design and optimize SQL databases and data integrations.
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments.
- Use generative AI tools to accelerate development, testing, debugging, documentation, and SDLC improvement.
- Drive software design, code quality, security, and maintainability best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, with the stated alternative PhD pathway.
- At least 5 years of software development experience for the role, with minimum-qualification alternatives of 4+ years with a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years with a master’s degree, or 2+ years with a PhD.
- Strong Python programming skills and strong frontend development experience with React.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Experience with SQL databases such as SQL Server or MySQL.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, modern development practices, debugging, and problem-solving.
- Ability and curiosity to use AI in day-to-day engineering work and improve SDLC processes.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Preferred exposure to generative AI technologies, LLM APIs, Copilot, or AI-assisted development tools.
- Preferred experience with data-intensive applications, dashboards, analytics platforms, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.
