Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure systems across multiple cloud regions.
- Own and evolve multi-cloud infrastructure using Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, networking, and container management.
- Lead observability, incident response, operational excellence, reliability, load balancing, quota management, and failover initiatives.
- Build infrastructure-as-code workflows using Terraform, Pulumi, or similar tools.
- Develop distributed systems including model proxies, rate limiting, quota management, multi-region deployment, and observability infrastructure.
- Partner with Product Engineering and Security teams and mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, and design reviews.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in core backend infrastructure engineering or backend platform engineering in production environments.
- Long track record building and scaling complex, large-scale distributed systems.
- Deep proficiency with cloud infrastructure platforms; Azure is preferred, with GCP or AWS experience transferable.
- Strong fluency with Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, container orchestration, networking, and cloud security at scale.
- Experience with Datadog, Sentry, PagerDuty, Incident.io, and incident response practices.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Preferred experience includes AI/ML infrastructure or high-throughput inference systems, distributed rate limiting, load balancing, quota management, multi-tenant platforms, strict security and compliance requirements, and leading complex cross-functional projects.
