Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, monitor, and maintain significant portions of the Ownr software platform and supporting infrastructure.
- Develop features using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and related web technologies.
- Improve the functionality, reliability, scalability, security, privacy, and delivery of production software.
- Lead development efforts, take ownership of technical solutions, and contribute to planning and system design.
- Mentor and coach junior developers and provide guidance across the team and broader organization.
- Write and maintain automated unit and end-to-end tests.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, entrepreneurs, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify and address technical debt and evaluate new technologies and tooling.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on programming experience, with substantial experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, GraphQL, React, CSS, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience building, monitoring, and maintaining highly available, scalable, and resilient production software.
- Experience leading development teams, mentoring junior developers, and working with non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience writing automated unit and end-to-end tests and using JavaScript-based testing frameworks.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, pull requests, and modern software delivery tools and techniques.
- Experience with DevOps practices and configuring cloud computing infrastructure.
- Experience with production deployment, monitoring, security, and cloud-agnostic architecture practices.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, ownership, collaboration, and project leadership abilities.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a computer or software design-related program is preferred.
- Experience with AWS is preferred.
