Base Salary
$104k - $176k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement features across the Ruby on Rails backend and React frontend from design review through production rollout.
- Own medium-sized projects by breaking down work, setting delivery dates, and delivering on schedule.
- Write and tune queries against MongoDB and ClickHouse while analyzing segmentation performance and cost at scale.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and deliver customer-focused features.
- Write automated tests, review teammates’ code, and participate in the on-call rotation to maintain system stability and quality.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience building and shipping web applications through full-stack development or backend services.
- Strong understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with SQL and at least one production database.
- Ability to turn ambiguous feature requests into working, tested code with limited oversight.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with experience working effectively in teams.
- Preferred familiarity with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, Sidekiq, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Preferred experience with MongoDB, ClickHouse, Snowflake, other data lake solutions, or high-scale, high-throughput systems.
