Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and execution strategy for Graph Connectors, Federated Copilot Connectors, and shared platform capabilities.
- Build AI-native systems and engineering workflows using agents, copilots, automation, evaluation, and data-driven feedback.
- Create reusable frameworks, SDKs, contracts, and control-plane capabilities for building, validating, deploying, monitoring, governing, and operating connectors.
- Lead technical design and implementation for authentication, data access, grounding, action execution, reliability, observability, compliance, and responsible AI.
- Partner with engineering, product, design, applied science, security, compliance, partner teams, and external system owners.
- Translate ambiguous business opportunities into technical roadmaps, milestones, and customer value.
- Establish engineering excellence through design reviews, APIs, automated testing and evaluation, experimentation, secure development, diagnostics, and live-site readiness.
- Review critical designs and code, mentor engineers, influence leaders, and grow technical capability across the connector ecosystem.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding.
- Equivalent experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree and experience requirement.
- Experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: 14+ years of software engineering experience and significant experience designing and delivering commercial-grade distributed platforms or services at global scale.
- Preferred: proven hands-on technical leadership shaping architecture, influencing multiple teams, and delivering complex multi-year initiatives through production operation.
- Preferred: deep expertise in cloud services, distributed systems, APIs, identity and authentication, data integration, security, reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
- Preferred: experience with AI-native development, AI-assisted engineering, agents or copilots, retrieval and grounding, evaluation, automation, and responsible AI.
- Preferred: strong innovation, learning, collaboration, communication, technical judgment, stakeholder alignment, and mentoring skills.
