Senior SDET Engineer
Black Duck Software, Inc.Responsibilities
- Extend, enhance, and evolve Java- and Python-based test automation frameworks for desktop IDE plugin testing.
- Integrate AI-assisted test generation, LLM-driven test code authoring, and AI-based visual object detection into test frameworks.
- Design and execute functional, integration, UI, performance, and security test strategies across supported IDE platforms.
- Validate consistent plugin behavior and user experience across IDE versions, plugin frameworks, and Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Collaborate with plugin developers on feature understanding, test coverage, and early quality feedback.
- Apply exploratory, regression, compatibility, and other testing methodologies to identify defects.
- Contribute to code reviews that improve code and test quality.
- Build data-generation and environment tooling for realistic, large-scale testing scenarios.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of experience in test automation or QA engineering.
- Developer-caliber programming proficiency in Java and/or Python, with the ability to write test code.
- Experience building, maintaining, and evolving automated test frameworks.
- Hands-on experience testing desktop applications or IDE plugins, including plugin architectures, UI automation, and cross-version compatibility.
- Cross-platform testing experience across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Experience with UI automation and visual testing techniques, including object or element detection strategies.
