Base Salary
$170k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own a product surface from problem definition through shipped and measured outcomes.
- Collaborate with design, data science, and go-to-market partners to scope work, write specifications, prioritize, and make product decisions.
- Talk directly with customers through calls, support tickets, and observation of product usage.
- Design and build data models, APIs, and jobs behind new product capabilities.
- Improve system speed, reliability, scalability, code quality, and engineering velocity.
- Mentor other engineers and learn from teammates with different strengths.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on engineering experience building products used by real customers.
- Strong backend fundamentals, including API and schema design, SQL, preferably Postgres, and query optimization.
- Ability and desire to scope, prioritize, specify, and own product work end to end rather than only implement fully specified tickets.
- Strong execution, communication, product judgment, and code quality.
- Experience with large-scale data pipelines, event ingestion systems, or other high-performance production systems is preferred.
- Depth in Redis, Postgres, ElasticSearch, or OpenSearch is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency optimizing serverless workloads on AWS is preferred.
- Experience building with LLMs or agents as a product surface is preferred.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, Node.js, AWS, Terraform, CircleCI, Netlify, Playwright, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Mezmo is preferred.
