Responsibilities
- Design, write, test, implement, document, and support solutions for assigned program modules and applications.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and business teams to estimate effort, assess feasibility, design systems, and optimize functionality.
- Develop scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise applications, REST APIs, event-driven services, and distributed systems.
- Review code, lead technical design discussions, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and tune performance across application, platform, and infrastructure layers.
- Contribute to architectural roadmaps, modernization initiatives, and platform engineering efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Typically at least four years of experience independently identifying issues across interrelated programs and systems and developing solutions.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, Java, SQL, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, Spring Security, OAuth2/JWT, and service-to-service communication.
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ, Domain-Driven Design, distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Experience with API gateways and API management, including authentication, authorization, routing, rate limiting, and traffic management.
- Proficiency with unit and integration testing using JUnit, Mockito, and related testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of resiliency patterns such as Circuit Breaker, Retry, Timeout, and Bulkhead.
- Preferred experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, banking or Open Banking, Banking-as-a-Service, payment processing, financial services platforms, and security or compliance requirements.
- Preferred experience with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, AI-assisted development tools, Angular, React, Kotlin, Swift, Xcode, platform engineering, and technical direction across multiple teams.
- Strong communication, collaboration, troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
