Base Salary
$187k - $234k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain scalable, resilient, secure, testable, and maintainable engineering solutions.
- Drive complex, long-term technical designs from concept through delivery and set project direction.
- Lead project priorities, deadlines, and technical solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, partners, product teams, and design teams.
- Support business needs during U.S. hours and represent engineering in client and product-support communications.
- Communicate technical ideas and guide project direction toward business outcomes.
- Mentor and educate other engineers.
- Participate in the design and development of Addepar’s strategic trading products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
- Expert-level backend development proficiency with a strong focus on Java.
- Experience with databases, SQL, NoSQL, OLAP, and/or data lake architectures.
- Deep knowledge of software design patterns, API design, and the software development lifecycle.
- Proven ability to influence technical direction and contribute significantly to complex distributed-systems architecture.
- Expertise with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and comfort with automated infrastructure and service-oriented architecture.
- Experience mentoring other engineers and amplifying technical impact.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and related technologies is preferred.
