Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to develop capabilities for API products.
  • Design and implement Java services connecting the platform with integration partners.
  • Make technical and architectural decisions supporting secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.
  • Own features from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
  • Author technical design documents, API documentation, and architectural proposals.
  • Develop testing suites and validation strategies, including integration tests.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and design discussions.
  • Expand integrations with contractor networks, service providers, and internal underwriting systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience building and deploying software applications.
  • Strong experience with Java and modern Java backend tooling.
  • Track record designing scalable, secure APIs and integration solutions.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-team collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in Insurtech or Fintech environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Temporal workflow orchestration is highly preferred.
