Base Salary
$179k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable data pipelines and backend microservices using Java, Apache Spark, Scala, and Spring Boot.
- Engineer systems that ingest, process, and serve billions of customer data points with low latency, high availability, and strong data consistency.
- Integrate AI coding assistants and autonomous agents into development, testing, and code-refactoring workflows.
- Design backend architectures and APIs that interface with AI/ML models and LLM endpoints.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire backend and data engineers while establishing engineering standards and conducting code reviews.
- Use AWS services and SQL, relational, and NoSQL databases to optimize cloud architectures, Spark performance, and operating costs.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and automated pipelines supporting data quality, pipeline integrity, and zero-downtime deployments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 1 year of cloud computing experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Preferred: master’s degree and 7+ years of professional engineering experience using Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
- Preferred: 4+ years with advanced SQL and NoSQL database systems, 3+ years of cloud experience, and 3+ years with open source frameworks.
- Preferred: 2+ years of Apache Spark performance tuning, including memory configuration, data partitioning, and DAG optimization.
- Preferred: proficiency with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or OpenAI Canvas.
