Responsibilities
- Build and refine controls that protect customer accounts from account takeovers.
- Develop backend and frontend systems for financial crime prevention and detection, with work split approximately 80% backend and 20% frontend.
- Design and operate scalable, distributed, and concurrent systems and associated delivery pipelines.
- Own projects independently, make data-driven product decisions, and increase automation in crime prevention.
- Design resilient database schemas and optimize queries.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Investigations teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Requirements
- Professional experience with Java or other JVM-based languages and the Spring framework.
- Experience building and designing scalable web applications that handle large amounts of traffic.
- Experience with React-based frontend applications and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and distributed, concurrent systems.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, and resilient schema design.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, problem-solving ability, and commitment to test-driven development and coding best practices.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts across teams.
- Product mindset, accountability, and ability to drive projects independently.
- Familiarity with the machine-learning lifecycle, data pipelines, feature engineering, and deploying ML systems into production is preferred.
