Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery, reliability, runbooks, service-level objectives, cost awareness, and incident response for a defined service or integration area.
- Build and maintain backend services, integrations, workflows, and business logic across commercial and business systems.
- Translate business requirements into service-level designs while identifying technical implications, gaps, dependencies, and data ownership concerns.
- Write automated tests, review code, address technical debt, and verify complete business workflows.
- Deploy, debug, and support software in production while maintaining security baselines and responding to incidents.
- Build migration and rollout tooling and collaborate with vendors and implementation partners on solution designs, integrations, dependencies, documentation, and issue resolution.
- Use AI-assisted engineering workflows for coding, testing, refactoring, troubleshooting, and related activities while validating generated code.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead service-level design discussions, and contribute to broader engineering initiatives.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience developing backend software and integrations across business systems.
- Experience using AI as part of software development, validating outputs and demonstrating improvements in productivity or software quality.
- Strong understanding of how services, integrations, data, and business processes interact across connected systems.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions, evaluate trade-offs, maintain code quality, and take ownership of delivered software.
- Understanding of production software operations, including security, performance, incident handling, and business impact.
- Experience with workflow orchestration, CRM, billing, ERP, or commerce platforms is valuable.
- Ability to guide junior engineers and collaborate effectively with engineers, vendors, and implementation partners.
