Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement reliable software and services that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Build scalable, secure, fault-tolerant, and cost-conscious software and infrastructure in a public cloud environment.
- Contribute to application, integration, and infrastructure architecture, including modernization, cloud migration, and refactoring.
- Partner with engineering and operations to identify technical risks, dependencies, and system issues and improve service reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussions, presentations, documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Improve engineering practices, testing strategies, developer tooling, delivery processes, and platform capabilities.
- Maintain documentation, communicate project status and significant issues, and support project goals and deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Six years of software development experience.
- Experience building web-based applications and web services using Java, REST, ServiceNow, and other web technologies.
- Experience interfacing with databases and integrating third-party products with existing infrastructure.
- Strong full-stack software engineering experience with a cloud or DevOps orientation.
- Hands-on experience with at least two to three of AWS Cloud, Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi, Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to design solutions using system decomposition, design patterns, security, and fault-tolerance practices.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, mentoring, risk-management, collaboration, and cross-functional engineering skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD, cloud-native development or cloud migration experience, AWS experience, Agile/Scrum experience, relevant technical certifications, and experience with the listed development and enterprise technologies.
