Responsibilities
- Act as a customer technical specialist during pre-sales activities for the Spectrum-X solution, particularly whitebox switches.
- Guide customers through bringing up SONiC or custom network operating systems on NVIDIA Spectrum platforms, including platform bring-up, feature enablement, and debugging.
- Advise customers on SAI and the NVIDIA Spectrum SDK, including API usage, feature mapping, ASIC capabilities, and limitations.
- Debug networking and software issues across customer network operating systems, SAI, and the SDK, and provide customer solutions.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to resolve customer issues and drive relevant fixes upstream.
- Provide customer requirements and feedback to engineering and marketing teams to help shape the software product roadmap.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in networking software development, including knowledge of the Linux kernel, Ethernet, and IP protocols.
- B.Sc. or equivalent experience required; a master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is also accepted.
- Hands-on experience with SONiC, another open or whitebox network operating system, or an in-house switch operating system.
- Experience with Ethernet switches, routers, and L2–L4 network protocols.
- Development or scripting ability in C, C++, and/or Python for debugging, integration, and tooling.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and customer-facing skills.
- Working knowledge of switch ASIC programming models and abstraction layers such as SAI or equivalent vendor switch SDKs is preferred.
- Cloud infrastructure understanding and knowledge of RDMA, RoCE, and AI workflows are preferred.
