Responsibilities

  • Develop structured, testable, efficient, and maintainable firmware for connected IoT devices.
  • Own IoT products and features from initial requirements through hands-on development and field deployment.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, platform, app, and customer-facing teams to deliver features and resolve bugs.
  • Perform board bring-up, design validation, code optimization, and debugging using JTAG/SWD and test equipment.
  • Participate in code reviews and manage tickets and development efforts across hardware and software teams.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in C for real-time operation on constrained microcontrollers and custom hardware using vendor APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS.
  • Fluency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash and version control with Git.
  • Ability to read schematics and data sheets for hardware and software debugging.
  • Knowledge of serial protocols including SPI, I2C, UART, RS232, and Modbus, plus networking fundamentals including MAC, IP, TCP, TLS, and DHCP.
  • Familiarity with secure boot, encrypted flash, TLS, and public key cryptography.
  • Hands-on experience with board bring-up, design validation, optimization, and debugging using JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, multimeters, or logic analyzers.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred experience includes ESP32, ESP-IDF, AWS IoT, OTA firmware updates, automated build environments, BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, and delivering connected IoT devices in complex multi-system ecosystems.
