Base Salary
$160k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as the US-based GCP platform subject matter expert, focusing on GKE workloads and improving Terraform-driven infrastructure and cloud architecture.
- Research infrastructure pain points, reduce operational toil, and deliver high-impact improvements across cloud and trading platforms.
- Automate and manage Linux and Kubernetes environments across bare-metal, virtualized, and cloud-native systems.
- Improve global monitoring and alerting frameworks and incorporate adaptive and self-healing mechanisms.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud issues, including on-call incident resolution.
- Provide regional technical leadership while collaborating with global stakeholders on platform standards, architectures, and large-scale initiatives.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools for analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational automation.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience operating complex production environments spanning Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Deep cloud experience, preferably with GKE or an equivalent stack, including cluster operations, workload orchestration, networking, security, and observability.
- Strong Terraform expertise and solid Linux fundamentals covering performance tuning, debugging, networking, virtualization, and bare-metal systems.
- Strong Python and Bash scripting skills for automation, tooling, and operational workflows.
- Experience with Kafka or similar streaming and data-pipeline technologies.
- Knowledge of Puppet or Ansible and Foreman or Satellite for configuration, lifecycle, and host management.
- Practical monitoring and observability experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools, along with modern alerting strategies.
- Strong Git-centric workflow experience and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
- Ability to lead regional technical direction and collaborate with global colleagues.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to identifying gaps, reducing toil, and driving self-directed engineering improvements.
