Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture, implementation, release, and operation of modular e-commerce add-ons.
- Design and implement advanced PHP and Laravel backend logic, including queues, events, middleware, and authorization policies.
- Design scalable, secure, multi-tenant, and distributed systems with maintainable database schemas and high-traffic performance.
- Oversee frontend integration in a SingleSpa micro-frontend environment and ensure consistent performance and user experience.
- Lead Docker-based environments, CI/CD, semantic versioning, release processes, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Act as technical lead and final reviewer by mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and enforcing architectural and quality standards.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows, including best practices, guardrails, and production quality standards.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building, scaling, and operating complex full-stack web applications in production environments.
- Expert proficiency in PHP 8.x and Laravel, including Middleware, Queues, Events, and Gates/Policies.
- Strong frontend development experience; Vue.js 3, TypeScript, and Pinia experience are preferred.
- Advanced expertise in secure, multi-tenant, distributed system architecture and long-term maintainability principles.
- Advanced database and performance engineering experience with MySQL/RDS, schema design, indexing, and Redis caching.
- Experience with Docker-based environments, CI/CD pipelines, semantic versioning, AWS infrastructure, and production monitoring and alerting.
- Strong technical leadership experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, decomposing complex problems, and communicating business impact.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted and agentic coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor, with judgment about their appropriate use.
- Curiosity about AI tools, models, and methodologies and willingness to test approaches that improve developer productivity and code quality.
