Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests, test frameworks, and test infrastructure using production-quality object-oriented code.
  • Extend and improve the proprietary Python-based test automation framework.
  • Analyze technical and financial requirements to create comprehensive scenarios representing real-world trading activity.
  • Create test documentation and plans, identify and track defects, verify fixes, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Support stable test environments and contribute to continuous integration pipelines, code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies.
  • Serve as the London-based point of contact for build and release activities supporting weekly releases across trading platforms.
  • Maintain build and test environments, CI/CD pipelines, status dashboards, scripts, tooling, and software configuration management practices.
  • Identify and lead improvements to build and release processes, gather requirements, build consensus, and deliver a modernization roadmap.
  • Collaborate with software development, business, trade desk, builds, and engineering teams across global time zones.

Requirements

  • Strong Python programming experience with a record of writing maintainable, documented, production-quality code.
  • Proven experience designing and developing automated test frameworks and test infrastructure.
  • Experience working in continuous integration and continuous delivery environments, including tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Linux/Unix proficiency, including system administration tasks and shell scripting.
  • SQL experience, preferably with PostgreSQL, and familiarity with database platforms.
  • Understanding of build tools such as Ant, Maven, or CMake.
  • Familiarity with package managers such as npm, nix, and uv.
  • Familiarity with containerization and virtualization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Experience with Jenkins pipeline management and failure troubleshooting is a preferred qualification.
  • A record of leading or driving organizational improvements to build and release processes is preferred.
  • Experience with the Atlassian toolset, including Jira, is preferred.
  • Financial markets experience, knowledge of order entry or market data protocols, trading system architecture, networking concepts, and distributed systems are advantageous.
