Responsibilities
- Own and maintain bounded contexts for one to three complex business domains within Hagerty’s technology portfolio.
- Design HTTP APIs, messages, domain concepts, and inter-context communication specifications.
- Create context maps and clear design artifacts, including OpenAPI documentation.
- Evaluate solution tradeoffs such as delivery speed, technical debt, vendor cost, and complexity.
- Explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders and inform product decisions.
- Publish reusable integration patterns and collaborate with Application Architecture and Engineering to improve architectural maturity.
Requirements
- Experience in a visible senior software or architecture role with a breadth of experience across programming languages, deployment, and databases or persistence.
- Fundamental knowledge of API design, HTTP communication, REST and RPC styles, polling, eventing, messaging, integration patterns, and identity concepts including authentication and authorization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to audiences with varying technical backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and positively impact multiple concurrent initiatives with competing priorities.
- Preferred experience deploying or integrating with the Duck Creek Insurance Platform.
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design, C4 modeling tools, .NET, REST and RPC API development, and OpenAPI documentation is preferred.
