Responsibilities
- Build and manage user interfaces, server-side logic, databases, and APIs for complex enterprise applications.
- Design, develop, test, integrate, release, maintain, and support software applications using clean and reusable code.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot complex problems, review code, estimate stories, and coach or educate team members.
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs, database schemas, queries, migrations, and application performance.
- Support application releases, incident management, root-cause analysis, outage resolution, testing cycles, and post-production deployment.
- Document and verify application architecture, infrastructure, security, integration, operability, and engineering designs.
- Apply secure coding practices, vulnerability remediation, resiliency initiatives, risk management, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with technology, business, project, and leadership partners to define requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery milestones.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting software applications.
- Full-stack Java experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful web services, asynchronous programming, JWT, and OAuth.
- Experience writing optimized database queries, designing schemas, handling migrations, and understanding indexation.
- Ability to independently design and optimize RESTful APIs with attention to payload efficiency and query latency.
- Experience with source control systems, GitHub Actions, continuous integration workflows, and agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience developing enterprise applications in financial services or another regulated environment.
- Familiarity with DevOps, automation, monitoring tools, software security practices, vulnerability remediation, application resiliency, and incident management.
- Ability to use AI assistants safely while debugging, auditing, and correcting generated code.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
