Responsibilities
- Build and support cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions on AWS.
- Develop backend services and automation in Python.
- Design services supporting market data, pricing, analytics, and pre-trade workflows.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Build and maintain CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and observability.
- Apply cloud security and secure software-development best practices.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and AWS costs.
- Lead technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture reviews.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on backend object-oriented development experience with event-driven and distributed backend services.
- 5+ years of experience developing complex Python applications involving high-volume data processing, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- 5+ years of experience deploying Python applications in AWS cloud environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Quantitative Finance.
- Experience with Kafka, Redis/ElastiCache, RDS/Aurora, and S3 in AWS environments.
- Preferred experience in energy trading, commodities, market data, pricing, or financial markets.
- Microsoft Azure experience is preferred.
- Experience with Athena, Redshift, C#/.NET, React, or Angular is preferred.
- AWS or Azure certifications are preferred.
