Responsibilities
- Assess Azure DevOps and TFVC environments, including repositories, permissions, and pipelines.
- Plan and execute TFVC-to-Git migrations, including testing, rollout, cutover, validation, and post-migration support.
- Define Git branching, repository standards, and release governance.
- Build and modernise Azure Pipelines using YAML and reusable templates.
- Improve automation, testing, deployment, security, and code-quality processes for .NET applications.
- Mentor developers on Git, Azure Repos, and Azure Pipelines best practices.
- Produce migration documentation, runbooks, and handover materials.
- Support secret management and security scanning improvements.
- Manage stakeholder communication and scheduled migration and cutover activities.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in DevOps, software delivery, or Microsoft ALM engineering.
- Strong Azure DevOps Server and/or Azure DevOps Services experience.
- Strong TFVC knowledge and proven experience migrating TFVC repositories to Git.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Repos, Git workflows, branching strategies, and Azure Pipelines YAML pipelines.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting skills.
- Practical experience supporting .NET and C# application builds and deployments.
- Experience managing migration cutovers, validation, and stakeholder communication.
- Strong documentation and client-facing consulting skills.
- Matric and a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Microsoft certification such as AZ-400 or AZ-104, or equivalent.
- South African work authorisation and availability for a full-time six-month Cape Town client engagement.
- Advantageous experience with Azure DevOps Advanced Security, SonarQube, Snyk, MSTest, xUnit, Postman/Newman, Entra ID, Active Directory, hybrid identity environments, financial services or regulated industries, Terraform, Bicep, Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, ClickUp, Sentry, or related tools.
