Responsibilities
- Build software, frameworks, and infrastructure that improve the frontend testing experience for Canva engineers.
- Design, build, and evolve core Quality Platform components used by thousands of engineers.
- Lead technical design and delivery of platform solutions while partnering with engineering teams across Canva.
- Reduce test flakiness, improve test health visibility, and implement smarter diagnostics.
- Improve CI/CD test feedback loops so engineers receive fast and actionable results.
- Own and improve the architecture, health, scalability, and performance of testing infrastructure.
- Contribute to Canva’s testing ecosystem direction and help teams adopt approaches that improve quality and engineering effectiveness.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining robust software systems.
- Strong knowledge of system design, data structures, and operational best practices.
- Hands-on JavaScript software engineering experience, with the coding interview conducted in JavaScript.
- Experience or interest in developer tooling, testing infrastructure, CI/CD systems, platform engineering, or similar developer-focused areas.
- Experience leading significant software engineering initiatives from ambiguous problem definition through technical design, implementation, delivery, and adoption.
- Understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end test automation and the challenges of building reliable, maintainable, scalable testing frameworks and infrastructure.
- Ability to navigate complex and ambiguous challenges, make pragmatic technical trade-offs, communicate clearly, influence technical decisions, and provide technical guidance.
