
Senior Robotics Software Engineer, Payload Integration

- Develop scalable, robust software for networking devices, managed networks, routers, and switches.
- Design and implement payload and stores management system integrations for coordinating munitions and mission payload release and control.
- Architect APIs and Interface Control Documents connecting vehicles, payloads, and ground stations.
- Build and optimize low-level UDP and TCP data transport for reliable, low-latency communication.
- Write hardware-interfacing software connecting embedded devices, sensors, and payload electronics with autonomy software.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, vehicle, and payload teams to integrate software into physical platforms.
- Prototype, implement, test, and deploy software across the full development lifecycle.
- Travel to test, debug, and deploy systems in operational environments.
- Troubleshoot deployed systems and resolve issues affecting reliability and operational success.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on production-grade software development experience in C++ and/or Rust; strong adjacent systems-language programmers may be considered.
- Experience building software interacting with networking devices, managed networks, routers, or switches.
- Experience designing and implementing software APIs and Interface Control Documents using HTTP, REST, and gRPC.
- Solid understanding of low-level data transport using UDP and TCP.
- Experience writing software that interfaces with embedded devices, sensors, or payload electronics.
- Ability to contribute to complex systems and established codebases.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to test and deploy systems.
- Experience working with international suppliers and customers in the EMEA region.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Preferred experience with stores management systems or related munitions and payload release systems.
- Preferred familiarity with aerospace integration standards, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC, DO-178, or DO-254 development practices.
- Preferred experience designing fault-tolerant distributed systems and message-passing frameworks.
- Preferred experience with embedded Linux, RTOS, or bare-metal development.
- Preferred additional experience with Python, Go, or scripting for tooling and test automation.
- Preferred familiarity with profiling and optimizing networked and hardware-interfacing software.
