Responsibilities
- Develop automated testing tools for near-real-time and batch data pipeline systems.
- Perform data profiling and analyze schemas, data interrelationships, and data flows.
- Write test plans and automated test cases, execute regression testing, and validate high-volume changes.
- Report and isolate bugs while collaborating with engineering, project management, and other teams.
- Implement QA automation for data pipelines using Java, Spark, and IntelliJ.
- Automate UI testing for iOS devices.
- Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and third parties.
- Lead junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in a STEM major such as science, physics, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience with Big Data technologies such as HDFS, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Voldemort, Cassandra, and Druid.
- At least 5 years of knowledge and experience coding in Python, Java, and/or Scala.
- At least 5 years of experience with Big Data query tools such as Hive, HDFS, Azkaban, SparkSQL, HiveQL, and CQL.
- At least 5 years of experience with near-real-time and batch data pipelines and black-box testing.
- At least 5 years of experience with client-server products, data quality, data profiling, and data integration tools.
- At least 5 years of experience with data migrations, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, test-case design, and bug-diagnosis skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment and lead junior team members.
