Base Salary
$220k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Apply AI to biological research problems in collaboration with postdoctoral Fellows and research partners.
- Design, build, and deploy production-quality AI agents and tools for scientific projects.
- Teach, coach, and support Fellows and collaborators in building, adapting, and using AI tools.
- Develop and deliver technical instruction, workshops, tutorials, and curriculum covering AI agents, LLM-powered applications, and related tools.
- Understand researcher goals, workflows, and constraints and identify where AI can have the greatest impact.
- Scope ambiguous problems, prioritize work, manage dependencies, and drive complex projects to completion.
Requirements
- 5+ years of machine-learning and software engineering experience, including experience building and shipping production-quality software used by real users.
- Strong engineering foundation with proficiency in Python and the ability to learn new tools and frameworks quickly.
- Experience building with LLMs, AI/ML systems, agent architectures, or AI-enabled applications.
- An M.S. in science or equivalent research experience in an academic lab or life sciences company.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, or train technical or scientific audiences.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to operate independently, build from scratch, and work through ambiguity.
- Willingness and ability to learn new scientific domains quickly.
- Ph.D. or equivalent research experience in biology, chemistry, bioengineering, computational biology, neuroscience, or a related scientific discipline is preferred.
- Fluency in TypeScript and/or other programming languages is preferred.
