Responsibilities
- Build and ship automated solutions that improve developer delivery speed without compromising quality, stability, or security.
- Analyze, profile, and tune local development workflows and development environments, including codebase modifications.
- Build tools to track operational metrics and improve environment performance.
- Leverage AI technologies and automate environment configuration to accelerate developer productivity.
- Define guidelines for code organization, build systems, and maintainable software architecture.
- Partner with developers, architects, and Release Engineering to streamline CI/CD pipelines, optimize local builds, and resolve complex environment issues.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and integrate modern tools and processes into Okta’s engineering ecosystem.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience in fast-paced environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing, debugging, profiling, and performance tuning with Java, Spring, and Tomcat.
- Deep expertise configuring, profiling, and optimizing build tools such as Maven, Gradle, or Bazel.
- Direct experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS and familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong familiarity with Git, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, and developer tooling.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional engineering teams, with the ability to establish standards and learn new technologies quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
