Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and build engaging streaming TV experiences for Roku's user base.
- Define and lead architectural decisions for high-quality applications on various platforms.
- Set strategic direction for frontend development and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Drive innovation to improve user satisfaction and application reliability.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to define scope and make product decisions.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Contribute to a culture of engineering and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and proficiency in modern web frameworks.
- Proven track record in architecting and shipping consumer applications at scale.
- Experience with media frameworks and streaming protocols like HLS and MPEG-DASH.
- Familiarity with connected TV environments and their unique technical constraints.
- Demonstrated fluency with generative AI and AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with 15+ years of experience.
