$247k - $486k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and build engaging streaming TV experiences across multiple connected TV platforms.
- Lead architectural decisions and set frontend development strategy for Google/Android TV, Fire TV, Samsung, and other connected TV applications.
- Lead architecture reviews, guide design decisions, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
- Improve the satisfaction, reliability, stability, security, and quality of streaming applications.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to define scope, make product decisions, and align teams.
- Champion AI-assisted engineering tools and practices to improve productivity, code quality, and automated testing.
- Contribute to engineering and operational excellence across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
- 15+ years of industry experience in senior software engineering roles is required.
- Expert-level programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, with proficiency in modern web frameworks such as React/Redux, Solid JS, Flutter, and Cordova.
- Experience architecting, building, and shipping engaging consumer applications at scale.
- Experience with media frameworks, streaming protocols, DRM, and media playback across HTML5, iOS, and Android, with familiarity with MSE/EME, ExoPlayer, Shaka Player, or Dash.js.
- Experience in connected TV environments and understanding of their technical constraints and requirements.
- Fluency with generative AI and active use of AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Strong UX/UI design understanding, communication skills, stakeholder relationship-building ability, and capacity to operate at hands-on technical and strategic leadership levels.
