Responsibilities
- Support system reliability and operability through monitoring, observability, and infrastructure improvements.
- Operate and improve containerized and cloud-based systems using Docker, Nix, and AWS, including ECS and Fargate.
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform.
- Write and maintain software across the stack using Nix, Nu, Bash, Haskell, Python, and TypeScript.
- Participate in incident response and improve on-call, alerting, and incident management practices.
- Collaborate effectively in a distributed team while taking ownership and supporting continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Demonstrated engineering experience with a solid track record of delivering software.
- Comfort with Git, Linux, the command line, and modern software development workflows.
- Interest in operating and scaling distributed systems.
- Either hands-on production experience with Haskell focused on performance, maintainability, and best practices, or infrastructure, operations, or SRE-adjacent experience focused on system reliability.
- Experience with incident management, monitoring, or a DevOps-oriented way of working is especially valued.
- Experience in insurtech, insurance, or related industries is especially valued.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in a distributed environment.
- Ability to work proactively, autonomously, and accountably in a scale-up environment.
