Responsibilities
- Build and operate internal data platforms, services, and distributed workflow systems using Temporal and Airflow.
- Develop and maintain shared Python libraries, Airflow operators, and internal frameworks for engineering teams.
- Build Temporal-based systems for reliable, long-running distributed data workflows.
- Create configuration-driven platform applications for authoring and running ingestion and transformation jobs.
- Own cost governance, monitoring, alerting, and optimization across Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Airflow, Kafka, and other platform services.
- Administer Snowflake, including role hierarchies, RBAC, masking, row access policies, network policies, resource monitors, and cost governance.
- Own production code across design, review, deployment, operations, and incident response.
- Automate service and ML model deployment and monitor production system and model health.
- Build orchestration, testing, metadata, and other platform capabilities for analytics engineering.
- Collaborate with software engineering, analytics, operations, business, and product teams on platform and data requirements.
- Ensure platform and data warehouse work follows regulatory, privacy, and company requirements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go or Python.
- Experience building and operating backend systems, internal tools, or platform applications in production.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, system design, software development practices, CI/CD, automated testing, code review, and observability.
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
- Strong understanding of ETL, data warehousing, and data governance.
- Experience building and managing data-intensive or distributed applications.
- Experience designing and operating APIs, services, and workflow-based systems.
- Preferred experience with Go and Python in production, Temporal, internal developer platforms, MLOps, MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Flink, cloud-native infrastructure, containerized deployments, and monitoring or observability tooling.
