Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
- Own end-to-end technology delivery for FISH, translating business and functional needs into robust system designs.
- Build and optimize Java backend services, Spring Boot applications, REST APIs, integration components, and distributed systems.
- Develop high-volume data access solutions using Hibernate/JPA, SQL, and PL/SQL, including performance tuning.
- Implement message-based and event-driven integrations, including producers, consumers, dead-letter queue handling, and reliable delivery patterns.
- Establish engineering practices for code quality, security, reliability, observability, unit testing, automation, and release engineering.
- Drive platform modernization, legacy transformation, technical debt reduction, resiliency improvements, and performance optimization.
- Manage complex technology programs, dependencies, delivery risks, controls, and operational stability.
- Mentor and coach engineers, build high-performing teams, and guide technical direction and engineering standards.
- Partner with product, business, operations, functional leadership, and senior management to align technology outcomes with business priorities.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with Java 8 or later, including multithreading, advanced collections, concurrency, and performance-oriented programming.
- Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot for backend services, REST APIs, and integration components.
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA, ORM, query tuning, caching, and high-volume data access patterns.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, including stored procedures, packages, triggers, complex queries, and performance optimization.
- Experience with message-based integration using MQ, including producers, consumers, dead-letter queues, and reliable message delivery.
- Experience designing and building distributed systems with a focus on scalability, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of Docker and containerization, particularly for scaling Spring Boot container builds.
- Experience with event streaming technologies such as Kafka for real-time data processing.
- Experience with Jenkins and Maven for CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and DevOps alignment.
- Unix/Linux expertise, including shell scripting, environment debugging, file handling, and permissions.
- Experience with unit testing, build engineering, and release engineering for regression-safe deployments.
- Experience managing complex technology programs, technical risk, dependencies, platform modernization, and enterprise-scale transformation.
- Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder influence, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
- Angular experience for basic UI troubleshooting or full-stack collaboration is highly valued.
- Chef cookbook scripting and ELK observability tooling experience are highly valued.
- Ability to advise senior stakeholders and apply risk management, business acumen, strategic thinking, and enterprise technology expertise.
