Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for the cloud network platform and contribute to Nubank’s broader technical community.
- Lead high-level and low-level designs for multi-account, multi-region, multi-geo, and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
- Manage complex network projects and processes end to end across teams and stakeholders.
- Reduce platform complexity through simplification, consolidation, deprecation, paved roads, and cost optimization.
- Own operational health, complex incident response, postmortems, and resulting technical debt strategy.
- Define quality standards for infrastructure automation and code, including testing practices, code review, and reusable modules.
- Establish platform observability, monitoring, controls, and service-level agreements.
- Own the network security posture, including segmentation, controls, and PCI DSS or equivalent compliance standards.
- Evaluate buy-versus-build decisions and new technologies based on stability, reliability, scalability, and cost.
- Mentor IC4 and IC5 engineers, participate in hiring, support technical taskforces, and document architectural decisions.
Requirements
- CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent experience, with the ability to design, build, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot large-scale networking infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and cloud computing, preferably AWS, including AWS networking services.
- Experience with Transit Gateway, VPC design, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, Route 53, NAT and egress patterns, network firewalls, or comparable technologies.
- Deep experience with IP address management, BGP and dynamic routing, firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and hybrid connectivity.
- Strong coding skills in Python, .NET, Java, Go, or similar languages.
- Experience leading incident response and root cause analysis for high-impact failures across team boundaries.
- Ability to lead ambiguous, complex projects with strategic thinking and without formal authority.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to connect network platform decisions to operational efficiency, reliability, cost, and broader organizational strategy.
