Base Salary
$140k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of major Developer Experience capabilities.
- Build and improve internal developer platforms, service catalogs, scorecards, self-service workflows, integrations, and AI resources.
- Connect developer tools with source control, CI/CD, observability, identity, cloud, and work-management systems.
- Define responsible engineering and AI practices covering quality, security, privacy, governance, cost, permissions, telemetry, evaluation, and tool support.
- Partner with engineering teams, Architecture, QA, SRE, InfoSec, IAM, and R&D Operations on cross-team initiatives.
- Enable adoption through documentation, training, office hours, clear communication, and measurement of adoption and workflow outcomes.
- Mentor Senior and mid-level engineers and help expand their technical judgment and ownership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Track record of leading technical initiatives across multiple engineers or systems.
- Deep expertise in frontend technologies, backend technologies, or both, supporting a software platform.
- Experience with cloud architecture.
- Professional hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Devin, Windsurf, or similar tools.
- Preferred experience building or operating software for engineering teams and implementing or operating an internal developer portal such as Backstage.
- Preferred experience with service catalogs, metadata standards, dependency views, engineering scorecards, scaffolding, self-service workflows, developer-tool integrations, and internal platform rollout and support.
- Preferred experience building AI tools, reusable skills, workflow harnesses, evaluation workflows, or developer-facing automation.
- Preferred experience with identity, permissions, telemetry, governance, security, privacy, or cost controls for engineering tools.
- Technical breadth across multiple languages and platforms, or willingness to develop that breadth.
