Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy an optimization engine that controls BEV charging and discharging to minimize household energy costs.
- Build, train, and evaluate machine learning and optimization models for energy price, demand, vehicle usage, and control or optimization problems.
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to understand complex requirements and adjust development direction.
- Lead communication with internal and external stakeholders, clarify technical issues, and guide them toward resolution.
- Coordinate with related product development teams to ensure the product technology works effectively and seamlessly.
- Mentor team members and promote engineering best practices through documentation, collaboration, and improved code quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information engineering or a similar field.
- At least seven years of experience in machine learning, optimization, or data science.
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Python and Go, and experience with machine learning frameworks.
- Experience taking machine learning models from prototypes into production products.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS.
- Strong business communication skills with stakeholders.
- Extensive experience designing core system components.
- Ability to think, design, and code from the user’s perspective.
- Passion for solving complex problems and learning new technologies and methods.
- Business-level Japanese and English proficiency.
- Preferred experience with Docker or other container technologies, Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems, build systems, continuous integration or deployment, and GPU computing for machine learning components.
