Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy features for Salesforce observability services.
- Own services by monitoring them and taking proactive action during incidents.
- Engage with customers to understand and resolve requirements or issues.
- Contribute to feature roadmaps and release planning with engineering and product leadership.
- Automate manual procedures, reduce engineering toil, and move code to configuration.
- Present work through tech talks, cloud demos, and engineering blogs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
- Experience building highly scalable, highly available, real-time data management services.
- Experience building server-side Java or equivalent applications in a Linux/UNIX environment.
- Experience with Python, Perl, Ruby, Go, Scala, or similar languages and the ability to become an expert as needed.
- Experience with time-series databases, metric collection frameworks, message buses, data streaming, and analytics platforms such as Apache Kafka, OpenTSDB, Elasticsearch, or Splunk.
- Some experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases such as Oracle or HBase.
- Good understanding of AWS technologies and operations.
- Demonstrated passion, ability to learn quickly, willingness to make a difference, effective communication, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Preferred expertise in data processing techniques.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helios, or Fleet.
- Preferred expertise with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kafka, MongoDB, Hadoop, Spark, Trino/Presto, Hive, Airflow, or Splunk.
