Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical roadmap for margin and risk systems across multiple asset classes.
- Design and build correct, testable, observable, transactional, low-latency, high-throughput services.
- Lead real-time risk enforcement, reliability, performance, state recovery, failure isolation, and production issue resolution.
- Partner with Product, Brokerage Operations, Compliance, and adjacent engineering teams on system behavior and integration boundaries.
- Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and establish engineering standards for correctness, reconciliation, idempotency, feature flags, and safe rollouts.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend or distributed-systems experience, including ownership of consequential production systems.
- Proven experience designing and shipping transactional, low-latency, high-throughput systems where defects could cause financial loss or data-integrity failures.
- Strong expertise in Go, or deep experience with Java, C++, or Rust and willingness to work primarily in Go.
- Deep knowledge of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, including transactions, consistency, and concurrency.
- Experience with event-driven and service-oriented systems, RPC technologies, and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentorship, testing strategy, edge-case analysis, reconciliation, observability, and safe production rollout practices.
- Preferred experience includes margin or risk systems across multiple asset classes, brokerage or settlement systems, derivatives, margin methodologies, workflow orchestration such as Temporal, performance tuning, and production migrations or refactors.
