Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and architecture of custom software solutions and lead teams through design and delivery.
- Set development standards and ensure code quality, scalability, performance, and alignment with business objectives.
- Design, develop, and support Node.js and TypeScript backend and Backend-for-Frontend services.
- Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs for catalog management, metadata, entitlement, playback authorization, and device registration.
- Develop API aggregation and response-transformation layers for web, mobile, Smart TV, and set-top box platforms.
- Integrate applications with AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, Amazon API Gateway, and Amazon ECS.
- Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD and release activities, technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, troubleshoot Node.js runtime issues, and resolve performance problems.
- Participate in on-call and production support activities and collaborate with development, operations, architecture, and business teams.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of professional experience is required; the posting also specifies a minimum of 5 years of relevant Node.js backend experience.
- Strong experience developing with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs and using Express.js, Factify, or NestJS.
- Experience with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, and ECS.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming, Promises, Async/Await, Streams, Event Emitter, and error handling.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, and Supertest, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and application monitoring.
- Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting incidents.
- Good-to-have experience includes OTT, streaming, broadcast, or digital media platforms; HLS, DASH, DRM, Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay, CDN, SSAI, Apollo GraphQL Server, and AWS Media Services.
- Exposure to Terraform, AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Redis, Amazon ElastiCache, Grafana, Elastic Stack, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, and ITSM processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical communication skills.
- Minimum 15 years of full-time education is required.
