Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into conceptual solution architecture and high-level project estimates.
- Design, develop, modify, and implement SaaS-hosted applications using Microsoft and open-source technologies.
- Build and maintain applications, web services, databases, data synchronization processes, and cross-platform solutions.
- Perform object-oriented design, coding, performance tuning, unit testing, and automated testing.
- Research, extract, and analyze complex data and ensure technical requirements comply with business requirements.
- Participate in test review, analysis, witnessing, certification, and peer code reviews.
- Mentor junior and less experienced engineers and help develop team skill levels.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects with internal and external teams while prioritizing workload effectively.
- Work during Omnitracs corporate business hours and perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 8 years of applicable software development experience.
- Experience with Microsoft C#/.NET development and ASP.NET MVC 3.0 or later.
- Experience with WCF REST/SOAP web services and database management systems.
- Working knowledge of logical data modeling, database management, and C#/Java development environments.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, open-source technologies, UML, mobile application development, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Familiarity with Agile practices and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience mentoring less experienced developers.
- Strong written and oral English communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
