Responsibilities
- Write high-performance, scalable, high-quality, and secure software, primarily in C#, to process and store telematics data in real time.
- Contribute to software design discussions, requirements analysis, technical design documentation, architecture, and implementation planning.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to junior team members and across teams.
- Perform peer reviews, enforce coding standards, and identify logic errors and software bugs.
- Analyze call stacks, trace files, and performance data to troubleshoot issues and determine root causes.
- Participate in prototypes, minimum viable products, proofs of concept, and research into new languages, frameworks, and technologies.
- Support internal staff and resellers through on-call and ad-hoc technical assistance.
- Define team best practices, improve maintainability and code reuse, and participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience as a software developer building scalable applications with object-oriented programming.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of multiple general-purpose programming languages, including experience with C#, Java, and Python.
- Experience with Google Compute Engine, Google BigQuery, SQL Server, and Postgres, plus expert database optimization knowledge such as MySQL.
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes and proficiency with Git or another distributed source-control tool.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project-management, teamwork, entrepreneurial, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Technical competence with software programs such as Google Suite.
