Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own core agent-platform components, including orchestration and internal-system tool integrations.
- Build APIs, data-access patterns, and service integrations that enable agents to execute operational workflows.
- Architect knowledge and memory infrastructure for retrieval and cross-system action.
- Implement trust and safety capabilities including audit trails, human-in-the-loop controls, and guardrails.
- Develop agent evaluation and testing infrastructure to measure accuracy, reliability, and regressions.
- Partner with Operations to identify automation opportunities and translate workflows into agent capabilities.
- Mentor engineers as the team grows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents, including orchestration, RAG, or tool/function calling.
- Strong API design and system integration skills.
- Ability to contribute product thinking and question requirements, not just execute them.
- Proven ownership of complex projects in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals and ability to design, build, and operate production systems.
- Curiosity and motivation to develop practical expertise in AI, LLMs, and agent systems.
- Pragmatic, resourceful, product-minded, and ownership-oriented approach.
