Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain applications that meet client objectives and user needs.
- Write software code and maintain application databases.
- Analyze, modify, remodel, and optimize existing applications, including fixing issues and enabling use on new hardware platforms.
- Test applications extensively to identify and eliminate errors and bugs.
- Install applications and provide technical advice.
- Consult with clients during the design phase to determine application needs.
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders regarding project limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces.
- Produce software documentation and participate in product review and team meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Seasoned experience in software applications engineering, software development, or related work.
- Seasoned programming experience with languages including C, C++, Java, and Python; experience with Perl is also relevant.
- Seasoned experience with Linux or Unix and Windows operating systems.
- Seasoned experience working with SQL.
- Seasoned project management experience and/or experience working in an Agile environment.
- Strong computer science, application design, user-focused feature, software development process, and integrated development environment knowledge.
- Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, communication, teamwork, and client-service skills.
- Programming-language certifications and Scrum or project-management certification are preferred.
