Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle while designing, coding, debugging, maintaining, testing, implementing, and validating applications.
  • Develop and support moderately complex code and program specifications across multiple projects and platforms.
  • Analyze problems, applications, architectures, databases, requirements, and designs to determine effective solution approaches.
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria, screen mock-ups, flow diagrams, implementation plans, and system documentation.
  • Perform and advise on unit testing, validation requirements, corrective measures, and systemic proposals for code deficiencies.
  • Advise leadership on application standards, controls, procedures, monitoring, data accuracy, and PCI compliance.
  • Participate in client-facing meetings, vendor partnership teams, and joint venture discussions.
  • Estimate billable hours and resources for complex initiatives, projects, and issues.
  • Assist with on-the-job training and provide expertise and advice to software engineers.
  • Advocate for development-team priorities, challenge scope creep, and negotiate timelines with product owners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Typically at least 6 years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
  • Required experience with COBOL, IMS, DB2, and Assembler.
  • Experience with two or more modern enterprise programming languages or technologies, APIs, external services, and relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Preferred 6–8+ years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
  • Experience with IBM Rational Tools is preferred.
  • TS2 experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, test analysts, ScrumMasters, and client counterparts.
