Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver software solutions through architecture, development, troubleshooting, and decomposition of complex problems.
  • Architect, build, and operate secure, resilient, scalable production systems using Java and AI code-generation assistant tools.
  • Establish and promote validated AI-assisted engineering practices including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, and troubleshooting support.
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape technical vision and execute roadmaps across process/decisioning, workflow/robotics automation, data transformation, and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Implement automation-first engineering practices covering CI/CD, environment management, and release controls.
  • Integrate LLM-powered experiences, retrieval-augmented patterns, and NLP workflows into software systems where appropriate.
  • Design experiments, implement algorithms, evaluate results, and deliver scalable, observable AI/ML components and services.
  • Drive automation and remediation for recurring production issues, improving instrumentation, alerting, incident response, and root-cause elimination.
  • Mentor and coach engineers and AI practitioners in a global organization.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on software engineering experience spanning system design, application development, testing strategies, and production operations or stability.
  • Advanced Java proficiency or strong Python proficiency, with knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, performance, and secure coding.
  • Experience using enterprise-authorized AI assistant tools in engineering workflows with appropriate validation and controls.
  • Experience with platform engineering and reusable engineering capabilities at scale, including developer experience, automation platforms, or shared services.
  • Experience implementing AI/ML-enabled applications at the code level, including LLMs, Generative AI, NLP, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation, and safe deployment.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, privacy, and security expectations.
  • Experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines and SDLC automation.
  • Cloud-native engineering experience, preferably with AWS, including containerization, observability, and operational readiness.
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers as a hands-on practitioner delivering production-grade solutions.
  • Preferred experience integrating vendor platforms within large enterprises.
  • Preferred familiarity with agentic workflow concepts and frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph, including orchestration, tool use, evaluation, and guardrails.
  • Preferred knowledge of financial services technology environments and control expectations.
  • Preferred practical experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, event-driven patterns, infrastructure as code, and resilience patterns.
